Οι Kalfayan Galleries (Χάρητος 11, Κολωνάκι, Αθήνα) παρουσιάζουν την πρώτη ατομική έκθεση του Αντρέα Τζούροβιτς με τίτλο ‘APORIA’.
Το έργο του Αντρέα Τζούροβιτς καλύπτει μία ευρύα γκάμα εκφραστικών μέσων: γλυπτική, ζωγραφική, εγκαταστάσεις, βίντεο, μουσική. Συχνά ανατρέχει στις προσωπικές του εμπειρίες ως πρόσφυγας πολέμου, αλλά ταυτόχρονα με γνώμονα το χιούμορ διερευνά το ‘διαφορετικό’ και το ‘παράδοξο’ σε όλες τις εκφάνσεις τους. Εστιάζει στο να θέτει ερωτήσεις, και όχι στο να δίνει απαντήσεις μέσω των έργων του. Ταυτόχρονα δίνεται έμφαση στo ποιητικό-φιλοσοφικό περιεχόμενο αντικειμένων και καταστάσεων. Χαρακτηριστικό γνώρισμα των έργων που παρουσιάζονται στην πρώτη του ατομική έκθεση είναι η ευφυής ισορροπία μεταξύ του ‘είναι’ και του ‘φαίνεσθαι΄, η οποία κυοφορεί το στοιχείο της έκπληξης με τον θεατή ως κύριο αποδέκτη.
Για την έκθεση στην Kalfayan Galleries, ο Αντρέα Τζούροβιτς, χρησιμοποιεί ως έναυσμα τον μύθο του Σπηλαίου στην Πολιτεία του Πλάτωνα. Με αφετηρία την έκπληξη και το οξύμωρο, και συχνά με κύριο εργαλείο το χιούμορ, δημιουργεί ένα εικαστικό περιβάλλον όπου τα πράγματα δεν είναι όπως δείχνουν. Κάποια από τα γλυπτά του αναπαριστούν για παράδειγμα χαρτοταινίες, μαχαίρια ή υλικά συσκευασίας και ξαφνιάζουν με την αριστοτεχνική ‘μίμηση’ της πραγματικότητας. Ακόμα και τα αφαιρετικά ζωγραφικά του έργα εγείρουν ερωτήματα σχετικά με την ύλη. Ταυτόχρονα τα ίδια τα υλικά έρχονται σε αντίθεση με την ‘υλικότητα’ των αντικειμένων, αποδομούν κάθε φορά την ‘ευθραυστότητα’ ή την ‘ανθεκτικότητα’ των αντικειμένων. Χρησιμοποιώντας ποικιλία υλικών (π.χ. λάστιχο, γυαλί, ρητίνη, ξύλο, ακρυλικά κ.α.) και κάποιες φορές επεμβαίνοντας και μεταβάλλοντας τη χρήση και λειτουργία καθημερινών αντικειμένων (π.χ. σακούλες σκουπιδιών μετατρέπονται σε μπαλόνια, κλιματιστικά μηχανήματα παράγουν πάγο), ο Τζούροβιτς επιτυγχάνει στα έργα του να γεφυρώσει οπτικά την τέχνη με την επιστήμη, τις παραδοσιακές τεχνικές με τη βιομηχανική παραγωγή.
Ο καλλιτέχνης διερευνά τη ρευστή φύση του ‘πραγματικού’, τη σχέση αισθήσεων και αντιληπτικής ικανότητας, χρηστικού αντικειμένου και ‘αισθητικής΄ αλλά και τις ηθικό-φιλοσοφικές προεκτάσεις της μαζικής παραγωγής και κατανάλωσης καθημερινών χρηστικών αντικειμένων που με ταχείς ρυθμούς περνούν σε αχρησία. Όπως σημειώνει ο καλλιτέχνης «Τα βιομηχανικά αντικείμενα μαζικής παραγωγής υλικών συσκευασίας αντιμετωπίζονται ως αποδιοπομπαία αντικείμενα εφήμερης κατανάλωσης που θυσιάζουν την εύθραυστη φύση τους για να προστατεύσουν κάποιο πολύτιμο αγαθό. Ταυτόχρονα καταγράφουν την αγωνία μας για τον έλεγχο πάνω στο τυχαίο και το επικίνδυνο καταστροφικό σφάλμα. Εμφανίζονται ως σιωπηλά τεκμήρια κάποιου συλλογικού φόβου για το τυχαίο που θα απειλήσει τις ‘’άφθαρτες’’ βεβαιότητες ενός απομαγεμένου κόσμου».
Ο Αντρέα Τζούροβιτς (γεν. 1987, Σερβία Μαυροβούνιο – Ντανίλοβγκραντ) ζει στην Ελλάδα από το 1999. Είναι απόφοιτος της Σχολής Καλών Τεχνών της Αθήνας και συνεχίζει τις μεταπτυχιακές σπουδές του στο Slade School of Fine Art του Λονδίνου. Έχει συνεργαστεί με τον ΟΗΕ σε προσπάθειες ευαισθητοποίησης των νέων σε ζητήματα ρατσισμού και την ανάγκη προστασίας των ευαίσθητων κοινωνικών ομάδων. Την τελευταία εξαετία εργάζεται ως κατασκευαστής έγχορδων μουσικών οργάνων (art luthery) σε ένα από τα διασημότερα οργανοποιία της Ελλάδας. Οι άριστες τεχνικές του γνώσεις σε πεδία που εκτείνονται από την τοιχογραφία εσωτερικών και εξωτερικών χώρων ως την οργανοποιία, τη χαλκοχυτική, την κεραμική, τη μουσική ακόμα και την κατασκευή ηλιοθερμικών συστημάτων και κλιματιστικών, μεταφράζονται σε εικαστικά έργα που αποδεικνύουν τη βαθιά γνώση και έρευνα του Τζούροβιτς σχετικά με τη διαδραστική σχέση μεταξύ ύλης, χώρου και θεατή.
