Open call

Fear, a word with multiple conceptual levels for everyone, representing something different, originating from our personal experiences. Sometimes it is an imaginary thing and sometimes it is something real, always an “idea” that induces anxiety. In order to overcome these kinds of obstacles we have to come face-to-face with our fears and actually confront them. But how a feeling like that can be expressed through the “eyes” of art?

The exhibition is aiming to house art pieces which reflect the biggest fears of the artists. Colors and ideas will bring to life that apprehension and will contribute to them getting lightened. In this particular case, the main core will be the paintings and they will be accompanied with some video installments that will be chosen to be screened consecutively, following the same thematic path. Each video may be 15 minutes or less.

The art exhibition will be held from December 3 to December 11 at Pocket Star Gallery Neo Faliro (19 Katsoulakou, Neo Faliro - Piraeus, Greece). Works of art that will not be able to be transferred will be displayed in print.

Each creator or group is invited to submit up to three works (painting, engraving, mosaics, sculptures, constructions, installations, etc.).

The participation application should include:

- Digital photos of the works of art - Project titles, dimensions, technique, year of creation, short description
- Short CV in text (up to 150 words) and photo (optional)
- Address, contact numbers, email, social media
- Price in case the works of art are for sale.

The submission of the participation files will be at the email address pocketstargallery@gmail.com (Email theme: "Fear the tangible").

The deadline for submission is the 15th of November 2021.

The fee for participation is 50 euros (for up to 3 works of art). It concerns only the works of art that will be selected.
