Τo Εθνικό Θέατρο εγκαινιάζει την Ερευνητική Σκηνή διαδικτυακά με την παράσταση της Μήδειας του Ευριπίδη σε σκηνοθεσία Μάρθας Φριντζήλα.
Η δημιουργία της «Ερευνητικής Σκηνής» έχει ως κύριο στόχο τη θεατρική σπουδή της αρχαίας ελληνικής δραματουργίας μέσα από τη μελέτη των κωδικών της, τη διερεύνηση σύγχρονων τρόπων προσέγγισης και την ανάδειξη των δυναμικών της στη σκηνική πρακτική και το παραστασιακό δημιούργημα. Οι νέες θεατρικές προτάσεις θα φέρουν την εγκυρότητα και την ποιοτική σφραγίδα φωτισμένων σκηνοθετών και προσωπικοτήτων του πνευματικού και καλλιτεχνικού χώρου. Η θεατρική περίοδος του 2021 ανοίγει με την παράσταση της Μήδειας στη νέα μετάφραση της Νικολέττας Φριντζήλα.
Πριν την παράσταση σε σύντομη ομιλία του Καλλιτεχνικού Διευθυντή του Εθνικού Θεάτρου θα ανακοινωθεί η ιδρυτική διακήρυξη της Ερευνητικής Σκηνής.
Μετά την παράσταση θα ακολουθήσει συζήτηση με τους συντελεστές οι οποίοι θα δεχθούν ερωτήσεις από το κοινό. Οι θεατές θα έχουν τη δυνατότητα να διατυπώσουν σχετικά ερωτήματα μέσω γραπτού ηλεκτρονικού μηνύματος.
Πλασμένη από το πάθος του έρωτα και της εκδίκησης, η Μήδεια –μία από τις πιο αντιφατικές τραγικές ηρωίδες του Ευριπίδη– αποτελεί έναν δυσεπίλυτο «δραματικό γρίφο», καθώς επιζεί της συντριβής της έχοντας διαπράξει το αδιανόητο: τον φόνο των παιδιών της. Πρόσωπο αινιγματικό, πολυδιάστατο, αμφιταλαντεύεται ανάμεσα στα ανθρώπινα μητρικά αισθήματα και τα ηρωικά προτάγματα της τιμής και της δίκης. Σε ξένο τόπο, προδομένη, αντιμέτωπη με απροσδόκητες διαψεύσεις, η γυναίκα-αρχέτυπο του θηλυκού σθένους, σκοτώνει ό,τι πολυτιμότερο έχει, και γίνεται η ίδια πρωταγωνίστρια του πόνου που επιφέρει η φρικιαστική πράξη της.
